For more than 165 years, The Times has been the eyes and ears of the world, providing breaking news, on-the-scene coverage and incisive journalism to the public. Just as The Times's fast-paced, moment-to-moment reporting has set the newspaper in a class of its own, its front pages have become legendary in their own right.
Times front pages let you travel back to any unforgettable date from 1851 to the present. Read tales from the front lines of the Civil War; dive into the harrowing tale of the sinking of the Titanic; join Lucky Lindbergh on his daring flight across the Atlantic; get wrapped up in the excitement of the V-E Day celebration; or relive the standoff in the Cuban missile crisis. These and more than 57,500 other storied front pages are available from The Times archive.
Commemorate a significant day in history or a memorable day in a loved one’s life with a page reprint. Whether for a birthday, anniversary, graduation or holiday, a page reprint allows someone special to display a significant moment in time.
Front pages are available from the first published issue in 1851 to the present. Dimensions listed above indicate paper size. 11" x 17" unframed reprints are protected with a plastic sleeve and are shipped flat; unframed 18" x 24" and 24" x 36" reprints are shipped in a sturdy tube. (Actual size of Times pages today is 13” x 22”.) 11" x 17" reprints have a border of about a quarter-inch on the smallest side; it's a half-inch for 18" x 24" and 24" x 36".
Page after 1998 are in full color. Most pre-1998 pages are reproduced from microfilm, an archiving process that picked up imperfections on printed pages and diminished the quality of photos.
Keep in mind that historic events usually appeared in the paper the day AFTER the date of the event.
Reprints are produced on acid free, 100% cotton fiber paper with a pleasing natural white tone and semi-smooth surface, the same type you would find for high-quality fine art or photograph reproduction. Our frames are made of solid wood with plexiglass and come ready to hang. Unlike actual newsprint, our acid-free paper does not yellow over time.
Framed reprints may vary in width to reflect page proportions that changed from wide (pre-1954) to more narrow from 1997 to the present. Pages reflect the final New York Late Edition only. Because this personalized item is custom-made for you, all sales are final and this product cannot be returned, refunded or exchanged.
